After the latest information of 9 Lives Interactive shutting down Nyan Heroes, First Mild Video games has now introduced through X that it’s discontinuing growth of cell battle royale Blast Royale.

Initially deployed on Polygon, in early 2024 Blast Royale was amongst a sequence of video games introduced to place its hope into migrating to Immutable zkEVM. One other problem the developer confronted was web3 resistance from cell app shops, one thing co-CEO Anil Das-Gupta spoke overtly about in a earlier interview with BlockchainGamer.

With that in thoughts, the studio has now made a remaining determination to sundown the cell sport. “After exploring each path and chance, we’ve made the robust determination to discontinue growth of Blast Royale. The sport will formally shut on thirtieth June 2025.”

The announcement goes on to state that “this isn’t (technically) the tip”, explaining that the sport can be absolutely open supply from 1st June, that means anybody who desires to may pay money for the code and “take the sport in new instructions”.

One other studio asserting the same destiny in a brief time-span is Singapore-based Tatsu Works which is sunsetting its RPG life sim Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates. Asserting its transfer to Ronin in September 2024, Tatsumeeko initially sprung from Tatusu.GG, which launched to quite a few Discord communities in 2016.

By closing down Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates, Tatsu Works says it could return to its early roots of constructing community-driven video games. Certainly, it’s already began engaged on its new title Mission: Wander, which can be “built-in straight into digital third-places” versus “directing gamers to exterior shoppers or apps”.
